Santander invests in postgraduate research
Postgraduate research students can now apply for awards of up to £2,000, thanks to generous funding from Santander Universities.
The awards will help students to develop international research links through conference attendance, institutional visits, or undertaking research as part of an international collaboration.
Applications will be reviewed quarterly by a panel comprised of the Associate Deans for Graduate Studies from across the University.
Sue Wonnacott, Associate Dean for Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Science said:
“The Santander Postgraduate Mobility Awards will provide a vital stepping stone to increasing the involvement of postgraduate students in international conferences, research projects and collaborations.”
Santander Universities will provide £60,000 over three years to support these awards. This is part of a new three-year partnership that represents almost £500,000 in support for areas including sports, arts and international student scholarships, postgraduate international research exchange, Team Bath Racing, and internships with local SMEs.
Lucy Crisp, Acting Head of Corporate Partnerships said: “Santander Universities is a long-standing philanthropic partner of the University, and we are delighted that they are helping to facilitate the development of our postgraduate research community through these awards.
“We are very grateful that talented research students will be able to make the most of opportunities for global collaboration.”
